You might have heard the term “comfort zone” mentioned by life coaches and motivators in their video. Why does everyone ask you to get out of your comfort zone to taste success? Have you ever give it a thought?

And, what does it feel like? Fear, Anxiety, Nervousness! I’m not going to lie to you. You are going to experience all the chills down the spine.

Think about it. If we’ve ever thought of living in the comfort zone, then we wouldn’t have walked down from the cradle. In short, every day is an opportunity to face new challenges.

Without further ado, I’m going to dive into the simple yet effective ways to get out of your comfort zone

1. Let fear be your Magnetic Compass

The core feeling of “FEAR” stops us from growing outside the comfort zone. Fear is just a feeling-acknowledge it. Easier said than done, right? But, I have a solution for this.

Imagine fear as a magnetic compass; it shows the direction for you to sail in the exact path. Takedown the route even though you are terrified. Feel it, live through it, and get passed out of it. The only possible way to get that fear out of your system is through LIVING IT.

At the end of the experience, you feel this mighty confidence to tackle anything. I’m talking only about the rational fears and not the life-threatening fears like someone chasing to kill you (I’m just joking! Nothing will happen to you)

2. Look at your Accomplishments

When you go through your certificates, medals, and trophies, how do you feel? An irresistible smile, probably goosebumps, right? Now, think whether you were fully confident when you appeared for that competition, contest, or race. Probably, not.

You might have felt the rush of adrenaline (fear hormone) all over your body, doubting your abilities, whether I will make it or not, etc. These are the days you have overcome the challenge of facing the fear and stepped out of your comfort zone.

What did you get at the end? A cherishing memory, a proud moment to look up to.

Every moment you have come out of your comfort zone, you face fear, which is temporary. But as a reward, you either get an appreciation (if you win) or a lifetime experience (if you lose).

3. Find a convincing Reason

I’m sure now you dare to face fear. This is the point where real work goes in. Not only getting out of fear would help you to step out of your comfort, but more importantly, “the visual view of your future.”

Suppose you have the dream to swim across the Pacific Ocean, but you don’t know swimming. What’s the first thing you do? Enroll in a swimming class and learn swimming.

This is the stage where you have to visualize how your vision will be. Living your dream life is such a blessed feeling. Imagine the day you accomplish crossing the Pacific Ocean. Isn’t it feels amazing? The vision is the factor that drives you out of your comfort zone.

4. Prepare a Plan to try New

Someone once said, “A dream without a plan is just a wish.” I’m sure you have a dream, a goal to accomplish it. Plan the ways to achieve it. If plan A failed, there is plan B; if that failed, there are 26 alphabets. You can still achieve it.

It’s not that every day you have to overwhelm yourself with more significant tasks. Think of trying something new that fascinates you.

This is why adventurous people try a new sport now and then. Do you think it is easy for them to jump from 150feet with only support from a rope? No, anything easy will go away quickly. Remember this and try new to extend your limits.

5. Take one baby step

Like I said before, putting a massive task of lifting 50kgs dumbbells on day one is utter stupidity.

To start anew, it is enough you go slowly. Many people scared to take their first step towards their goal, fearing the massive effort they have put forth.

Don’t scare your confidence away. Go for a 10 min walk for a few days, then gradually increase the difficulty level bit by bit. Voila, one day, you achieve the goal of lifting even a 100-kilo weight.

Not everyone is courageous; the ones who learn to master the fear with their might become successful. For accomplishing anything in your life, you need to get out of your sluggishness. I hope these tips will help you to bang out of your comfort zone soon.
